Hello and welcome to "Sugar & Spice & everything nice", a blog about food, travel and food travels.
I'm a Malaysian, holding a full-time job and am fortunate to be able to indulge in weekend kitchen shenanigans. Throw in the occasional travel and pig-outs abroad and these provide more fodder.
My kitchen adventures started at a tender age when my homemaker mom decreed that we had to at least be able to cook rice and fry an egg - basic survival skills. My only formal learning in cooking was the 3 years of Home Science in secondary school. The headmistress then had some old-fashioned views and insisted on Home Science to be taught. Quite old fashioned indeed. Looking back, those lessons weren't wasted, and my repertoire has certainly expanded beyond rock buns and fried eggs! Cookbooks, TV and the www helped plug the gaps.
Fast forward to the present where cooking has evolved from a functional to a social activity, used mainly for bonding with a battalion-sized family and friends. Over the years, there have been many memories, experiences, inspired moments ... grilled starfish, anyone?
Writing and sharing them is like my fall-back plan - for the time when I get older and my memory starts getting leaky :D C'mon, do you really remember what you did last week?
I would love to hear from you, so do drop me a note, comment or email when you stop by.

Thanks so much for your time! Please let me know if you have any questions, and I hope your Wednesday is going brilliantly. Email me at n.lincoff@gmail.com
